Fotor - Photo Editor, Designer App Reviews

Caveat emptor

Can’t open a jpg file or any other format for that matter, so can’t use this piece of dreck! Minus 5 stars!

Very little control over your photos.

Needed an application to help me design a collage, but this app left me unsatisified with very little options to adjust, crop, and otherwise alter my photos. Plus, in the collage section, when you upload a photo, the app adds an annoying border on the uploaded photo. If you want a very basic editor/designer, this is for you, but not advanced enough for my needs.

What?

Ok I’m spoiled by all the other programs which do so much more.. can’t say it doesn’t work, it’s just boring. Nothing new here folks, just a basic filter program without much control. Like I said, boring.

Won’t Close Out

Fotor has always been such a helpful app for me considering I mainly only need to crop, tilt, and adjust the coloring on photos. Recently, though, I was changing a picture from color to black and white then saving it when fotor froze up on me. It wouldn’t let me click anything on the app and wouldn’t let me close out. I tried quitting (Command+Q) but nothing happened. I can only minimize it.

Amazing, Easy App!!!

The smooth functionality of this app makes it one of the best editing apps i have ever used, although i dont edit pictures much. You can simply queue up some pics you might use and allow the app to custom fit them into whichever collage frame you like. It’s that easy!!!

Clunky

Sorry, this is too clunky. There isn’t a way to open a queue of files to crop quickly. One must open each file individually, then save each file and choose its destination. No thanks. Why not just open 10 files at once and allow me to crop and then save by overwriting the original file??

simple reason for a 1 star review

You cannot select an image from folder explorer to edit it or apply an effect.

I love this app!

I’m a food blogger and use this app for creating Pinterest diptychs. So, my opinion may be less useful because I’m not using its Edit or Design functions and I’m using just a handful of commands in the Collage function. I also don’t change the photos, unless it might be to zoom in on the food. But after the complexity and clutter of Lightroom, I find Fotor refreshingly simple and direct. I have my diptychs created and posted to Pinterest in minutes. It’s an enormous convenience to my workflow and I highly recommend it. I downloaded the app, so I don’t have much experience with the online interface, but I’ve seen it and it looks similar to the app, which is pretty easy to figure out and to use. Keep in mind, that this app is FREE! It’s an outstanding value for the price.

not bad

a good free app that has the main functions for a photo editing

It was marginal at best…now it just keeps crashing.

I found myself using this app sparingly when I wanted to create a quick collage using the templates. Now it just keeps crashing when I try to export a photo. After three attempts and three ‘Force Quits’ I’m done. Deleting this app.

Better Off With Something Else

This app is pretty difficult to use. It’s nearly impossible to upload photos to the app unless they are on the desktop or still on the memory card. Once you finally get to upload the photo(s), there are many options available to edit them. This part isn’t that bad, but I still prefer the options of Instagram more than this app. When you’re finished making edits and are ready to save, the app crashes about 50% of the time. I’ve tried to use this app for two weeks, and I’m over it.

The folks are correct it’s not worth even free

I thought it would be good top try this app because of the features it showed and had some positive remarks. However evryone that mentioned bringing in multiple files isn’t possible. You can’t compress or resize the picture to accomadate download restrictions for certain sites. It was on my Mac for 10 minutes and right back off. I wouldn’t keep it even being free. And what’s even more distrurbing is I didn’t see any replies from the developer regarding these same issues over and over that got others like myself to uninstall it.

Editing Great, App HORRIBLE

Every time I open one pic, start my edits, then it freezes. My cursor spins and I can’t shut the app off, I have to go to my activity monitor and close it out because “Not Responding”. This has happened now, on every picture and I have tried 5 times now. Even when I try to crop and then click “done”, it resets my frame and I can’t get the crop back so I have to close that picture out and re-open without saving my edits. I am so frustrated with this app, DON’T waste your money on this one.

Fotor is awful!!!!!

This app crashes every time I try to save changes to an edit. Crop a photo and go to save, and it hangs every time on save file to a location. Worst frustration possible. I am using Mac Sierra 10.12.2 OS

Irratic performance

I’ve tried to edit a few simple photos. In about a dozen attempts the application freezes every time. I deleted it from my computer and downloaded it again to give it another shot. I’ll let you know what happens.

From fantastic to BAD!!!!

I’ve always loved this app, until the recent update to 3.1.0. I can no longer add text, because the point size of the text keeps defaulting to 144, or 288 point, and won’t let me select a smaller point size. The “enter text here” box with either of these two very large point sizes, shows up on the app and any attempt to select a lower point size results in the “add text here” box to close, and leave the screen. I sent an email to the company explaining the problem, but they just said they’d pass it on to the techs. This was several weeks ago, and still nothing! I’m wondering if anyone else has this problem, or if I am the only one????

Beachballing when trying to save

I liked this app until recently. I have to force quit the app due to beachballing on my Mac when I try to save an edited picture. Also it is difficult and slow to load a photo from my files. When I finish with one picture, i have to get out of the app to load another picture to edit. That was a month or so ago. Now, I don’t use it due to the beach balling. It’s not my comuputer, it’s the app with a bad bug in it. Please fix it.

HORRIBLE…!!! IT CRASHES DOESNT OPEN

HORRIBLE it was easy and simple to use…. I cannot believe how horrible it became, I tried averything - installed - uninstalled it nothing works I want my money back… Stay away don’t buy

Fix Simple Borders

Could you please change the simple borders back to the way they were? The curved border one called “Jet White” is wider than it used to be. I’ve been using Fotor to do simple borders for images on a website. The new format doesn’t match the old format.

Terrible

This app used to be great, but the recent updates have made it infuriating and basically useless. Used to be able to drag and drop images from a folder into the app, albeit one at a time, which was silly but it worked. That feature has been removed. Each time you open a new image in Edit mode, the menu resets back to the beginning and you have to navigate to where you were. There is no way to store the prefered folder for saving images. Each time you open the app, the folder setting is cleared and has to be reset. When switching from Collage to Edit, the folder setting is also cleared. For the love of god Fotor, just make a permanent setting for this! And recently, the worst possible thing… every 3rd image edited or created, when you click on the browse button to select the folder that wasn’t saved the last time you selected it, the app freezes and stops responding. The only option then is to force quit, relaunch, reset all your settings, and start again. Seriously Fotor, get it together and hire some qualified people design your app and make it work. This isn’t rocket science.
