Fotor - Photo Editor, Designer App Reviews

Everything is pixelated now with the new update. So frustrating! This used to be my “go to” app and you have ruined it with an update. It was not broke, why did you try to fix it?

I have been using Fotor for quite a while and had been pleased with being able to add text to my photos and then export them to my I photo program . I recently updated a software app for fotor and now I can’t export my photos to my I photo progam any longer. The reason I chose Fotor in the first place is because it was the only one that gave me an option to export directly to I photo … I am deleting this app and looking for something else if I cannot export my photos. Wish I could go back to the previous version!

I have been using the Fotor app for a couple of years with my Mac and loved it. I just used it today with the new 3.0 update, and I hate the changes. No longer can I drag and drop from iPhoto to Fotor, which increases my work time because it takes forever to get the iPhoto images to load to be imported. I can also no longer export directly to iPhoto, which means extra steps to get it where I want it to go. Im not sure who thought these changes were a good idea, but I wish I could go back to the previous version. I can’t even leave a feedback on their website because their Captcha image keeps telling me I am not typing the correct letters, even though I tried it with 6 different codes- the text is so tiny, no human can actually tell what it says, so I guess they prefer us to just write bad reviews in the App store instead of receiving actual feedback on their website.

Fotor used to be my favorite, go-to editor, but with 3.0.0 you took away my favorite fonts, my favorite filters. Now everything is just bland. I wish I could go back to the other version before this one.

This was my favorite go-to app UNTIL the last update. Automatic filter is now terrible.

New update does not allow the app to open.

This app began as a web app or some junk so one can forgive using what feels like Adobe Air but its well past time for them to get with the program... XCode that is. The non-native interface is a nightmare. It doesnt register as an app you can open images with, you have to open the app then import the image. It doesnt sound like much but the UI problems just get worse from there. Its kind of a marvel that Apple allowed this in the App store as combersom as the interface is. Now that 3.0 is out the App when launched is invisible! I thought it wasnt even loading but theres a clear window in Expose... thats so bad its almost impressive. All I want is a simple photo filter App. I could do it all in Photoshop but if Im just boosting the contrast and slapping a quick tilt shift on an image it feels like overkill. The goal is to be quick. This App is anything but quick. Its a frustration machine.

I loved this app, and was excited to see an update! However once I export a file the image quality is horrible. Please fix this asap!

Before the newest update there was some really nice effects to give pics a ‘weather beaten’ look, theyre gone now :(

Maybe becsue i am new user. I have no idea what it looks like in the previous versions. I think it has great features and very intuititive to use. True the save option could be more clear. But once you know where to click, it made sense (they could change the name of the home button maybe). Afterall, it is also free. something people are forgetting maybe. Keeping that in mind i think it is the best free photo editor i have used and with all honesty, it trumps some of the paid ones too.

I cannot save any pictures anymore after updating. I do not understand why you updated new vision which I cannot export my own images. Unbelievable. You gave me a hard time to undownload your program and download different program which is better than your program.

I tried the latest version. I never used Fotor before. I love what I was able to do with two photos and in a short period of time. My sunset photo over a lake is fantastic. BUT - what photo editor would not provide users with the ability to undo individual changes???? After many edits that I like I made an additional change that I did not like. It makes no sense whatsoever that I could not hit an undo button and instead had to go back to Reset All. I am uninstalling and looking for something else because this feature is not included.

I think its a great tool to learn,have fun with and edit photos, however I agree with another reviewer and that is there IS NO “UNDO” BUTTON :( There’s only a ‘RESET ALL” button that brings the picture back to its original. To make this a GREAT application, there NEEDS an UNDO button. ( or a STEP BACK BUTTON). Ill be waiting….

I’ve been using this app for ages. The current version DOES HAVE UNDO buttons for each and every panel of actions. It’s not located on the main button panel at the botttom of the window. It’s located on every panel where the tools you are using are located (on the right side of the window). Don’t be discouraged by the others who obviously haven’t used the app thoroughly enough or are just too lazy to open the panel they used to undo their changes. Yes, it would be nice to have a universal undo button somewhere that is always visible, but the app DOES HAVE UNDO capability and they shouldn’t be saying that it doesn’t. If you review an app, at least be accurate in what you’re reporting to others. I give this app five stars because it’s extremely easy to use, effective at what it does, and free! Apply an edit or effect. Undo it if you please (at any time) by opening the edit/effect panel that you applied. Every change that you make can be undone in this app, and done quite easily if you just open your eyes! I wish I could supply a screenshot here, so you could see what I’m talking about.

Great product! Best FREE option out there!!! Despite the many posts I’m seeing, there IS a way to ‘Undo’ and even ‘Redo’, though it would be REALLY nice if the two buttons were set in one universal place outside of the different editing panes (maybe down by the ‘Reset All’ button?). For anyone struggling to figure out how to ‘Undo’, this isn’t Command-Z. You have to go into the adjustment/editing pane (ex: crop, adjust, effects, borders, etc.) and either click undo if given a button, reverse effect by selecting “None", or simply make a new change. I’m AMAZED at all of the negative comments posted after someone has just GIFTED you a FREEEE app that, for all intents and purposes, works about as well as the expensive programs out there! Not to mention, they’re forcing the “big boys” to step up their game just to compete. So, THANK YOU FOTOR, ON BOTH ACCOUNTS; I hope your time investment is returned from the ads! This isn’t meant to replace Photoshop. It’s meant to be a ‘quick editor’ with some key basics. With too many options, my grandma won’t be able to use it for all of her scrap booking and family history needs. She’s still trying to figure out how the mouse magically works without a chord, much less understand any of the complex programs our generation has been blessed with! :)

This is a simple and diverse app, and I find it a great way for ametuers like myself to simply edit the pictures of taken on trips or whatever- great filters and light options.

Before the last update this worked perfectly and I could always improve my photos with it. However, since the update it doesnt work as well. For one, it doesnt save at the same resolution it used to. High used to save at 9 or 10MB (same or higher than the original file) now its 4 or 5MB. It used to default to the last choice, but now always defaults to High. More aggrevating, though, is that I can make a picture look amazing in Fotor, export it to my computer and open it, and it doesnt look nearly as good. I have no idea why that would be since its on the same computer. Before the update it looked the same on Fotor as it did in Preview.

Crop, change lighting, filters, boarders, and thats pretty much it. Cant edit parts of the photo.

Hello, I love Fotor! I usually use it to edit the photos on my blog…but as of late I can’t save any photos! Please fix!
